Infopresse Montreal: May 2008
Earlier this week on Tuesday, 12 May 2008, I was invited and spoke at the Infopresse Search Marketing Conference in Montreal, Canada.
First off, I would like to thank my good friend Guillaume, NVI Solutions SEO, for recommending me to Infopresse and also to Veronique Desrosiers for making sure I ate some special Montreal food and saw some different parts of the city.
The conference was fun, even though 90% of all communication was in French. I spoke for about an hour on social media, how to leverage it for marketing, the various types of content that perform well, and what the top social communities are.

Digg Comments: Finally Fixed
About a year ago, Digg launched a new version of their comment system which a large number of users were not to happy about.
They introduced the ability to digg or bury individual comments, sorting options based on comment score, making friends comment a greenish hue, the ability to block users, threaded commenting, and a 3 minute window to make edits to your comment before they became permanent.
A few short months after this launch, around June 2007, they launched another changed.

Social Media is extremely time consuming.
If you are like me and active in all the top social communities, it can take the majority of your time just keeping up with the changes, interacting with the community, and following your various social media campaigns.
The good thing is that for each community you decide to get involved with, there are numerous tools that can help save you a ton of time.
New Reddit UI and Features are Live
Recently we did a post about the New Reddit UI and Features they were working on. At the time we did not have a solid launch date but knew the launch would be on http://beta.reddit.com.
Today the new beta officially launched for users to have a chance to test it and provide feedback.
