Reddit Adds the Random Box
Regular Reddit users should have noticed a new addition to the front page at Reddit.com today.
Above the regular submissions, a new box has been added that shows a random new and upcoming story. The stories shown are selected based on various factors and it is designed to give more attention to the newer stories that have not reached the front page yet.

Reddit Officially Launches New Design
Today, May 26, 2008, we celebrate two things here in San Francisco: Memorial Day and Reddit’s launch of its highly anticipated redesign of Reddit.com.
I am not sure how many people noticed the Reddit logo yesterday, but it showed the Reddit alien, whose name I am sworn to keep secret, painting its background a lovely shade of light blue. The same shade that the new design has for a navigational background as seen below.

Reddit Announces YourWeek: Reddit News Television
Reddit announced today that is has been working with PBS to produce a weekly TV spot called “YourWeek“, a Reddit powered television news show, which will showcase material that was hot on Reddit in the previous week.

Initial pilot of the show will not air on PBS, but be available around June 6th, 2008, for download, probably through the YourWeek website and/or Reddit blog. All episodes, aired or not, will be available for download after they are finished and ready.

Reddit Redesigns the Redesign Based on User Feedback
I talked with Alexis, co-founder of reddit, and got a few updates on the status and changes to the redesign efforts on Reddit.com.
Currently expected to launch sometime next week, if no further bugs or issues are discovered, the Reddit community has been vocal in what they like and hate about the new designs. Since the release earlier this month on May 7th, 2008, there have been a few more changes, as of today, to the design over at http://beta.reddit.com.
