Reddit Includes Sponsored Links on their Front Page
Some users on Reddit have noticed the inclusion of “Sponsored Links” on Reddit.com.


As you can see from the image above, the “sponsored links” are clearly indicated as such and have a light blue background behind them.

Reddit Updates Widgets, Launches FireFox Plugin, and Updates Their Site
Every time I talk to the guys at Reddit, they are mentioning yet another change, feature, or addition to their site. I really don’t know how they find the time to do it all, with having only 5 people (6 now actually since they hired Erik the “Manager of Community”).
A lot of it has to do with the huge success they have had in making their site code open source.

Clearly I don’t have the same time management skills that they do, as I am about to talk about three separate things they have launched or changed all in one post. However, I have been traveling a lot and just finished the redesign and relaunch of Weird Asia News (Check it out if you have not seen it).

Reddit Announces: We “Heart” Gossip… dot COM
Really hard core Reddit fans might remember when a site called Lipstick.com was launched with Reddit’s platform and some design overhauls.

Well as you can see by the activity off the front page, it was not a huge success and was really niche in it’s target audience.
“We thought the lipstick brand was too geared toward women and men who wear lipstick. As a man who doesn’t wear lipstick, but is curious about Natalie Portman’s dating habits, I personally wanted a site that was less pigeonholing.” – Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit

Reddit Be Talkin’ Pirate
It is officially “Talk Like a Pirate Day” and that means.. well..
we be speakin’ like pirates.
However, I am not the only one throwing out an audible Arrrrr from time to time.
