SMX Advanced 2009 in Seattle… We Be Stumbling
SMX Advanced is coming up quick and this year, instead of just going and hanging out, I decided to jump on a panel and talk a bit about social media… go figure
Since StumbleUpon has been making some big changes over the last year, site owners have seen a huge increase in referrals and the quality of those visits.
Where StumbleUpon used to send about 15,000 to 20,000 visits back in 2007, and around 25,000 to 30,000 in 2008, it has made a huge jump in 2009 with site owners reporting traffic well into the 100,000 to 150,000 range.
So what better to talk about everything that is StumbleUpon… From how it works, how you can properly participate in it, and what you can expect for results from your efforts.
So if you are going to be at SMX Advanced in Seattle on June 2, 2009, which everyone should be, then come by the ‘Social Media & Search Marketing: Not The Same Old Stuff‘ session at 9:00am, and check our Rae Hoffman and myself.
Always happy to hang out and answer any questions I can about StumbleUpon or any other social media site of interest.
Brent Csutoras & Chris Bennett Interview from SMX West 2009
After our session on “What is new in Social Media Marketing“, Chris Bennett and I did an interview with Abby from WebProNews about some of the things we discussed during the panel.
If you didn’t make SMX West or the session, here is the interview, which covers a few of the topics from the session:
SMX West Recap and Slides
Last week at SMX West, I sat on a panel with Chris Bennett and Gab Goldenberg talking about “What is new in Social Media Marketing.”
It was a really great session and we got a lot of information out through the presentations, and answering various questions from the audience.
I was asked by a few people if I would offer up the slides from my presentation, and so I am posting real quick to provide the opportunity to grab them.
Unfortunately, my slides are almost always a visual aid to what I am saying, so not sure it will be super effective for people who didn’t attend the session.

What’s New in Social Media at SMX West
So What’s New in Social Media?
It is a question I get asked more times than I can count. However, with how quickly social media changes, I almost always have a different answer.
Maybe it is because of the vast number of social platforms, tools, and communities, but it seems like every week someone is launching new features, changing existing ones, or flat out introducing an entirely new site or product.
Even for someone like me, who spends every waking moment wrapped in social media, it can be difficult to keep up with everything that is going on in the vast world of social media marketing.
