Last week, Invesp Consulting released their long awaited list of “The Top 100 Most Influential Online Marketers of 2008“.
I was informed a week before the list was announced, that I had been recommended for the list by Aaron Wall, who is one of the Top 10 Most Influential in the list.
However, I as quite surprised and extremely honored to be ranked among the Top 25 Most Influential Marketers and really appreciate the nominations and votes.
The list was put together by initially emailing a few very highly regarded marketers asking them to nominate up to 3 marketers that they felt should make the list.
“As the nominations came in, nominees were quickly screened by our team, and if approved, nominees were then contacted to nominate 3 more of their top marketers.”
Over 1,000 nominations were made and the list was built based on how many marketers were recommended repeatedly.
I was also given the opportunity to recommend 3 online marketers who were influential in shaping the industry over the last year.
I nominated Chris Winfield for essentially making social media a more acceptable method of marketing amongst the bigger corporations, Todd Malicoat for his involvement in giving back through speaking, moderating, and producing numerous online educational videos, and David Kline, who really worked hard to put together numerous networking events such as the SEO Tournament at Pubcon, ThinkTank, and numerous other networking events that helped so many people make the connections they needed to get ahead in this industry.
Congrats to everyone who was nominated and made the list. It is exciting to know there are so many smart minds working in online marketing today.
Congrats Brent…
I remember when I first saw your icon on Digg and added you as a friend, and I was quickly impressed at your flair for social media and killer web content.
You’ve totally put the time in, and you deserve it!
Congrats Brent!

You are definitely in my top 3 🙂
Congrats Brent.
There are few people that I like to watch what they do and learn from it. You are on top of that list 🙂
Congratulations, that is quite an award.
