Friday night, January 18, 2008, Shoemoney, Greg Harnett, and myself attended the 2008 TechCrunch Crunchies Awards. It was really a great event and we all had a good time.

It was held at the Herbst Theater which was pretty comfortable and had a great upstairs balcony.

TechCrunch has a post announcing the winner for each category and it was Facebook, WordPress, and Digg who got the most attention and took the highest awards.

There was an extremely funny video of a fake Steve Jobs accepting the award for the Best New Gadget / Device category for which the iPhone won. Apparently no one from Apple felt the honor was worth sending someone over to accept the award, but the video shown was far better than anything a real Apple rep could have said.

Check out the video here:

After the awards there was a nice networking event where we got the chance to meet up with MC Hammer and talk about his DanceJam project. He was a really chill and down to earth guy and I really hope his project succeeds.
