Reddit announced today that is has been working with PBS to produce a weekly TV spot called “YourWeek“, a Reddit powered television news show, which will showcase material that was hot on Reddit in the previous week.
Initial pilot of the show will not air on PBS, but be available around June 6th, 2008, for download, probably through the YourWeek website and/or Reddit blog. All episodes, aired or not, will be available for download after they are finished and ready.
Before and after the show, users can discuss the stories and the show on it’s new subreddit at YourWeek.reddit.com. Who knows, your comments might even get mentioned on the actual show.
“We’re hoping to get some content directly from you, the reddit community in the final days of this week. We’re curious to hear what you think about lab-grown meat, NFL cheerleaders in Bangalore, and your most boring job – ever. These are just a few of the reddit headlines that are being produced for the pilot.”
If any of you have met the Reddit team, then you know there is no shortage of entertainment from this group. It should be fun to watch and I am looking forward to getting a hold of the pilot episode.
Good find mate… should be fun to have your blog comments mentioned on TV
